Minangkabau Culture

Minangkabau culture is culture which had by Minangkabau people and develop in all of Minangkabau people live’s. This culture is one of big culture in Indonesia which famous and pursuade. Some of way to know about minangkabau culture we can see from building of minangkabau house, dish or cooked food, poetry and also traditional music and traditional dance.

   
Minangkabau house famous with name “rumah gadang” including one of architect art special in Indonesia. Traditional Minangkabau house form of podium , use wood and lounching, and also foundation planted in land. Many special of minangkabau house which not found in other place is the “gonjong” roof. “Gonjong” roof like horn of bufallo. This model use as house roof, meeting hall, and today also use as office roof in all of west sumatra’s office. “Gonjong” form is special minangkabau ethnic.

Cooking a delisious food including one of culture and habit of minangkabau people. This is occur because minangkabau peoples often do a tradition party, must presenting a delisious food. Minagkabau dist not only prensent for minangkabau peoples but also for all people in Indonesia. The special of minangkabau cookery is “rendang, asam padeh, soto padang, sate padang and dendeng balado. Today rendang is one minangkabau dish which become a very delicious dish in the wold. Miangkabau cooked rich with variation of flavour from spices like chilli, fragrent grass, ginger, garlic and shallot. Minangkabau dish not use a chemicals. Cooking skill is difficult and need a long time make it a delisious and durable.

 
In minangkabau peoples, poetry well know with “petatah petitih”. Poetry including one of special present and diplomation. Generally, in a present poetry use a implied meaning. Although poetry use a implied meanging but the language is bare so, there are not a ambigu meaning. Poetry culture use for honour the guest who came to eaten. Or in wedding party, when women (anak daro) graps men (marapulai).


  
  Minangkabau culture born many music and castanets too. Among special castanets of minangkabau is saluang, talempong, rarab, and bansi. All of castanets play in traditional party and wedding party. The music, castanets fused with traditional dance from minangkabau like piriang dance, payuang dance, pasambahan dance and also indang dance. The special minangkabau dance is fast, hard, jerking, and dynamis.
In conclusion, minangkabau culture rich with many special culture from minangkabau house until the dence, and more be proud one of minangkabau dish “rendang” appreciation become delicious food in the word. I’m as a minangkabau people say i’m very happy and proud born in minangkabau land and also proud become a minangkabau people.
